
Junior Data Engineer
Role summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Data Engineer for a remote, full-time position to help build and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines for ETL/ELT processes using tools like Python, SQL, and cloud platforms.
- Collect, clean, and transform data from various sources (e.g., databases, APIs, files in JSON/CSV/XML formats) to ensure quality and usability.
- Support database management, optimization, and basic troubleshooting to enable efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Perform data quality checks, validation, and monitoring to identify and resolve issues in pipelines.
- Document processes, pipelines, and code for team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to understand data needs and contribute to projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python (or Java), and basic data tools; familiarity with ETL processes and databases.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience or internships; strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and data formats is a plus.
