About the Role

We are looking for a senior UX Designer to join our team. This role requires exceptional user experience and visual design skills to create intuitive, engaging, and high-performing interfaces across our platform. You will be responsible for collaborating closely with product managers, engineering leaders, engineers, and other designers to transform complex workflows, including those involving real-time data and IoT devices, into elegant and usable designs.

This role is ideal for a designer who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments and is passionate about creating user-centered digital experiences that bridge web, mobile, and connected devices.

Responsibilities

  • Research, architect and design modern user interfaces for IoT devices, web applications and tablet/mobile applications.
  • Translate product requirements and user stories into wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Create responsive, accessible, and visually consistent designs that align with brand guidelines and design systems.
  • Work closely with developers across timezones to review and ensure pixel-perfect implementation of designs across front-end applications.
  • Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to inform design decisions.
  • Analyze user feedback, telemetry data, and product analytics to improve UX flows and reduce friction.
  • Create and maintain personas, journey maps, and interaction models to represent target user experiences.
  • Support the creation of visual assets, icons, and interaction animations for both UI and marketing use.
  • Stay current with trends in UI/UX, design systems, and interaction design, especially in AI-driven, data-heavy or IoT-driven applications.
  • Contribute to design documentation, standards, and process improvements within the design team.
  • Seek feedback from peers and stakeholders, iterating quickly to deliver high-quality design outcomes.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or higher in Design, Design Communication, HCI, or a related field - or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience in consumer-facing mobile/web product design, UX/UI, and interaction design. Knowledge of accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Strong proficiency with Figma and prototype development.
  • Proficiency in tools like Figma Make, Lovable, or similar platforms for "vibe coding" to create rapid prototypes and gather quick customer feedback.
  • Experience designing for web and mobile platforms, with an understanding of responsive design principles.
  • Familiarity with user-centered design methodologies, usability testing, and research techniques.
  • Strong communication skills - able to present and defend design decisions to senior stakeholders including technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, and product managers in an agile environment.
  • A portfolio that showcases strong UX thinking, data-informed decision making, and clean, intuitive interface design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for IoT or real-time map based systems, dashboards, or device management interfaces.
  • Familiarity with front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, React component structure).
  • Understanding of data visualization design and complex system interactions.

Compensation

  • The base salary range in Hayward California for this full-time position is between $165,000 to $200,000, stock options and other benefits.
