Test Engineering Technician
Role summary
HireArt is seeking a Test Engineering Technician for an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company in Foster City, CA. This full-time, ongoing contract role involves setting up, executing, and debugging tests on sensor and compute hardware. The technician will support the development and deployment of test solutions for manufacturing, ensuring hardware system performance and reliability. Responsibilities include building and validating automated test stations, creating documentation, collaborating with engineers on design for testability, and following procedures. The ideal candidate has an associate's degree in a relevant technology field, 3+ years of experience building industrial-grade test systems, proficiency in reading schematics and drawings, experience with wiring harnesses, and familiarity with standard lab equipment. Linux and automotive ECU testing experience are considered bonus qualifications.
Expected compensation: 40.49 USD Per Hour
HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Test Engineering Technician to set up, execute, and debug tests on sensor and compute hardware.
In this role, you’ll support the development and deployment of test solutions for manufacturing, ensuring high performance and reliability of hardware systems. You’ll work in a collaborative environment, executing test plans with precision and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
The ideal candidate is a motivated, hands-on technician with experience building test stations that integrate electrical and mechanical subsystems, and a strong desire to learn and grow.
As a Test Engineering Technician, You'll
- Develop, build, validate, troubleshoot, and support automated test stations in both lab and high-volume production environments.
- Create and review test and process documentation, contributing to ongoing refinement and improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure products are designed for optimal manufacturability and testability.
- Follow engineering drawings, written procedures, and verbal instructions to complete work assignments accurately.
- Support testing activities across multiple sites, with occasional travel as needed.
Requirements
- An associate’s degree in electrical, electronics, or mechanical technology
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Proven ability to build and maintain industrial-grade test systems
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and engineering drawings
- Experience assembling and repairing wiring harnesses
- Familiarity with standard lab equipment (e.g., digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Qualifications
- Familiarity with Linux
- Experience testing automotive ECUs
