Expected compensation: 41.97 USD Per Hour
HireArt is helping our client find a Test Engineering Technician II to support the setup, execution, and debugging of tests for sensor and compute hardware platforms.
In this role, you’ll support prototype builds and production-intent hardware by executing test plans with high accuracy and ensuring components meet performance and reliability standards. You’ll work closely with engineering and R&D teams to validate designs, troubleshoot failures, and improve test processes.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented hardware test technician with experience debugging systems in fast-paced engineering development environments.
As a Test Engineering Technician II, You'll

  • Test and troubleshoot prototype assemblies with support from engineering and R&D teams.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback during the prototype development phase.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and testability.
  • Perform final testing of components and assemblies.
  • Conduct failure analysis and repairs, and generate detailed failure analysis reports.
  • Create and refine test instructions and procedures to improve test quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain test equipment calibration and lab tools.
  • Support development of automated test fixtures and related software or firmware.
  • Perform testing and calibration of subassemblies and final assemblies.
  • Follow electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions to complete work assignments.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in hardware testing or hardware bring-up
  • Experience working in Linux or Ubuntu environments
  • Ability to execute and troubleshoot command-line procedures
  • Experience with hardware validation, debugging, or end-of-line testing
  • Experience using electrical lab equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
  • Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced hardware development environments

Bonus Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training
  • Experience assembling or routing wiring harnesses
  • Experience working in startup or NPI (New Product Introduction) environments
  • Experience working with autonomous vehicle or robotics hardware systems
  • Experience testing medical device hardware
  • Experience testing aerospace or defense hardware
  • Experience working with sensors, ECUs, or compute hardware platforms
