About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in managing core accounting functions, including month-end closing, financial reporting, treasury operations, and system oversight. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in providing insightful financial analysis that guides strategic decision-making and supports the company's mission to deliver sustainable energy solutions. Qualifications
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • 2-4 years of relevant professional experience in accounting roles, with a preference for experience in utilities, real estate, or technology sectors.
  • Active CPA certification or current CPA candidacy is mandatory; prior public accounting experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with ERP and EPM systems, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • High attention to detail, exceptional problem-solving capabilities, and strong financial analysis skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of critical functions, including but not limited to:

  • Monitoring and reporting monthly revenues and costs related to utilities and services, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Preparing detailed reports comparing current financial results to established benchmarks and historical data.
  • Supporting the month-end close process by preparing journal entries aligned with GAAP standards and collaborating with operational teams to gather necessary data.
  • Conducting monthly variance analysis to identify discrepancies and support accurate financial closing procedures.
  • Ensuring the timely preparation and submission of monthly and annual financial reports, maintaining compliance with organizational standards.
  • Coordinating responses for external audits, tax inquiries, and other regulatory requests to ensure compliance and transparency.
  • Completing and reviewing monthly general ledger account reconciliations to verify accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintaining and updating billing rate information based on utility rate structures, ensuring consistency and accuracy across systems.
  • Providing ad-hoc financial analysis and supporting various projects across the finance team to improve processes and reporting.
  • Performing monthly bank reconciliations and monitoring daily cash flow to optimize cash management strategies.
  • Recommending solutions for financial and operational challenges, utilizing sound judgment and analytical skills.
  • Upholding organizational values such as performance, communication, leadership, quality, knowledge, and teamwork in all tasks.
  • Completing additional projects or tasks as assigned to support organizational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
