About The Role
It's an exciting time to join Fisher Investments Careers as a member of our Technology Department. We are actively investing in our future and expanding our team to support our global growth initiatives. We are seeking an experienced Azure Technical Lead to support our Cloud Platform team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for mentoring a team of cloud engineers, designing scalable Azure-based infrastructure, and implementing best practices to ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our cloud environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned cloud professional to make a significant impact by developing strategic, innovative solutions that align with our organizational goals. You will be at the forefront of our cloud transformation journey, working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud operations and promote continuous improvement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over a decade of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud technology, with a strong emphasis on Azure cloud services. A minimum of five years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and managing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions on Microsoft Azure is essential. Candidates should have at least four years of experience utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, including managing reusable modules, automating deployments via CI/CD pipelines, and managing infrastructure states effectively. Additionally, one or more years of practical experience with Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and AI platforms such as Microsoft Azure AI or similar services is required. A proven track record in implementing Azure security and governance controls—including Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, secure landing zones, identity governance, and compliance—is vital. Strong networking knowledge, scripting skills for automation, and experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef are also necessary. Candidates should hold relevant certifications such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect Expert, demonstrating their expertise in cloud architecture and security.
Responsibilities

• Guide, mentor, and lead a team of cloud engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment.
• Conduct regular team meetings for code reviews, cross-team collaboration, design reviews, and training to ensure continuous development and alignment with organizational goals.
• Lead incident response efforts and perform root cause analysis for cloud platform services to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Design, implement, and manage scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure and automation tools for routine operational tasks.
• Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Azure resources, ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards.
• Proactively monitor and optimize the Azure environment to ensure high availability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Manage cloud costs, optimize resource utilization, and implement strategies for cost savings without compromising service quality.
• Collaborate with solution architects and partners to ensure solutions meet security controls, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
• Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance cloud operations.
• Stay current with the latest Azure features, tools, and industry best practices, sharing knowledge with the team to foster continuous learning.
• Monitor cloud usage, assess risks, identify gaps, and recommend solutions for optimization and remediation.
• Ensure all cloud services and tools are deployed following documented procedures and best practices, maintaining comprehensive documentation for all configurations and processes.
