About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Frontend Engineer to join our rapidly expanding entertainment startup based in San Francisco. This pivotal role involves leading the development of the company's new React-based frontend platform. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in JavaScript and React, with a proven track record of delivering scalable, high-performance user interfaces in a production environment. As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for guiding the frontend development team, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating closely with product managers and designers to create engaging digital experiences. This role offers the opportunity to influence the technical direction of a growing company and work on innovative projects within the entertainment space.
Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a significant focus on frontend development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and React is required, with hands-on experience in building and maintaining complex web applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of modern web development best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, and performance optimization.
• Experience leading development teams, providing technical mentorship, and managing project timelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of the company’s React-based frontend platform, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level frontend developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development workflows to maintain code quality and consistency.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance across the application.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.
• Participate in sprint planning, agile ceremonies, and project management activities to ensure timely delivery of features.
• Support deployment, testing, and documentation efforts to facilitate seamless product releases.
