We are hiring a mid-level Data Engineer to support the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority. This role will lead analytics, reporting, and data infrastructure efforts across statewide broadband programs.
You’ll work directly with leadership and cross-functional teams to build scalable data systems and deliver insights that drive funding, compliance, and performance tracking.
What You’ll Do
- Lead development and governance of data systems (programmatic, financial, geographic, performance)
- Design data models, schemas, and ETL workflows
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards (KPIs, financials, program tracking)
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and analysis
- Integrate data from multiple systems into centralized datasets
- Define data standards, quality controls, and reporting structures
- Support federal/state reporting and compliance
- Collaborate with GIS teams to align data with mapping outputs
- Deliver executive-level reports and presentations
Must-Have Skills
- Strong SQL
- Experience with Power BI (dashboards, reporting)
- Data modeling & data integration experience
- Strong communication (stakeholder-facing role)
Nice to Have
- DAX (Power BI calculations/optimization)
- GIS or spatial data exposure
- Data governance / data quality frameworks
- Public sector or federal reporting experience
