Role summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Sr. Advanced Software Engineer for their Flight Management System team on the Anthem Next Generation Avionics project. This role involves leading a team of software engineers to design, develop, and integrate complex software solutions, ensuring high quality and adherence to technical and certification requirements. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct code reviews, and perform testing. The position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in C++ or object-oriented programming, strong software architecture and design skills, and experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Preferred qualifications include experience with embedded systems, aerospace standards like DO-178C, and multi-core/multi-thread development.

In this role, you will work in a development environment with a team of experienced software and systems engineers to satisfy technical requirements, support functional load deliveries and ensure compliance with certification requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designing and developing high-quality Core Software architecture and applications.

• Integrating Flight Management software for new product development.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.

• Implement software solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.

• Conduct software requirements and code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

• Testing and Integration on test benches in labs.

• Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development.

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development.

• Strong C plus plus or Object-oriented programming skills.

• Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.

• Strong software architecture and design development skills.

• Strong understanding of OOAD approach and concepts.

• Strong analytical and software development skills.
