Role summary

Location: Toronto (Hybrid 4 days onsite)
Type: Contract ($50/hr)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with strong experience in test automation of minimum 4 years of hands on experience to support cross-border banking projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Playwright and API automation, along with a solid understanding of modern testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute automated functional test cases
  • Perform dry runs and test data setup to ensure successful execution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams to define test scenarios and requirements
  • Implement UI automation using Playwright
  • Perform API automation using Postman
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity and code quality

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proven 4+ years of experience as an SDET / Test Automation Engineer
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (UI automation)
  • Experience with API automation using Postman
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar)
  • Experience designing and executing automated test cases
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with distributed teams

Technical Requirements

  • Test automation frameworks and best practices
  • UI and API test automation
  • Test data setup and validation
  • Version control tools ( GitHub)
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot)

Additional Requirements

- Must be a local candidate in Toronto
- Willing to work 4 days onsite (hybrid model)
- Background check is mandatory
- Must be available for a pre-joining meet & greet (in-person if required)
