Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, Functional
Role summary
We are seeking a Senior Functional QA Engineer to ensure software quality through rigorous functional testing. This role involves inspecting and assessing software, detecting and reporting defects, and verifying system behavior against specifications. The ideal candidate will be the final line of defense before production releases, ensuring products meet all requirements. Responsibilities include translating specifications into test cases, developing test strategies, executing tests, analyzing results, and reporting bugs. The role requires 5 years of relevant experience, knowledge of QA methodologies, test management software (Jira, ALM), and SQL. A background in high-demand, low-latency applications and Agile frameworks is preferred.

Job Purpose
We are looking for a Senior Functional QA Engineer to inspect and assess software quality through functional testing. You will be responsible for detecting and reporting software defects and identifying discrepancies between specification and system behavior.
Ultimately, as the last line of defense before releases are committed to Production, you will ensure that our products, applications and systems function according to requirements.

Responsibilities
- Review and analyze system specifications to translate into Test Cases
- Collaborate with team members to develop effective strategies and test plans
- Execute test cases and analyze results
- Ability to drive quality initiatives from design to deployment in a fast-paced environment
- Evaluate product code according to specifications
- Report bugs and errors to development teams
- Troubleshoot system issues within QA, development and product management
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
Knowledge And Experience
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in project management and QA methodology
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
- Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. Jira and ALM) and SQL
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
- Strong organizational skills
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
Preferred Skills
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer with 3+ years of experience focused on high-demand, low-latency applications or similar role
- Experience with Fixed Income and/or Derivative Trading Platforms
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing
- Experience with AI-assisted tools for testing
