Junior Web Developer (Consultant)
Role summary
Indigiteq is seeking a Junior Web Developer (Consultant) to join their design and technology studio. This role will support the development and enhancement of web-based platforms and digital tools, with a key focus on the MAAMAWI governance and strategic management platform. Working with designers and senior technical leadership, you will translate designs into reliable, user-friendly web applications. Responsibilities include implementing front-end components, debugging, testing, collaborating on user experience and accessibility, and maintaining code quality. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of web development experience with strong HTML, CSS, Liquid, and JavaScript skills, knowledge of database systems, and an understanding of system architecture, responsive design, and accessibility.

The Engagement
The Junior Web Developer (Consultant) will support the development and ongoing improvement of Indigiteq’s web-based platforms and digital tools, including building robust tools for our clients.
A key focus of this work includes contributing to MAAMAWI, a governance and strategic management platform designed to help Indigenous organizations track programs, monitor progress, and manage data with confidence.
Working alongside designers and senior technical leadership, you will help translate ideas and interface designs into reliable, user-friendly web applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development of web-based applications and platform features
- Implement front-end components based on design and technical specifications
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the MAAMAWI platform
- Assist with debugging, testing, and performance improvements
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure strong user experience and accessibility
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-documented code
- Support version control and development workflows
- Contribute to continuous improvements across Indigiteq’s digital products
What You Bring
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related discipline
- 1–3 years experience in web development
- Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Liquid, and JavaScript
- Knowledge of database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Understanding of system architecture principles
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities
- Understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Figma for design collaboration and handoff
- Familiarity with Phaser 3 or similar interactive/web-based frameworks
- Experience with data-driven dashboards or SaaS platforms
- Exposure to API integrations and backend services
Pay: $54,000.00-$61,000.00 per year
