Job Description-
If you’re a Business Development professional with experience in the AEC industry, or a Project Manager, Cost Estimator, Construction Manager, or Project Executive looking to transition into a client-facing Business Development role — we want to hear from you!
Our company is growing, and we are seeking a motivated and adaptable
Business Development Manager
with a strong foundation in
construction, engineering, or architecture (AEC)
. This role is ideal for someone who understands the construction lifecycle and is eager to leverage that knowledge to drive client relationships, project opportunities, and revenue growth.
You will play a critical role in expanding our presence in the Greater Philadelphia market by identifying opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and supporting proposal and pursuit efforts. You must be comfortable engaging with clients, industry professionals, and public/private sector stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies focused on AEC and construction opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, developers, public agencies, and consulting firms
  • Identify and pursue opportunities through City/State procurement portals, bid platforms, and industry networks
  • Leverage existing industry relationships to generate high-probability leads and proposals
  • Track and qualify leads, managing pipeline activity through CRM tools
  • Conduct outreach to prospective clients and follow up on warm and cold leads
  • Collaborate with marketing and proposal teams to prepare RFQs, RFPs, and bid submissions
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to strengthen market presence
  • Research market trends, competitors, and upcoming projects within the Philadelphia AEC landscape
  • Identify key decision-makers (owners, agencies, PMs, executives) and build strategic connections
  • Support upselling and cross-selling of services by understanding client needs and project requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong understanding of the AEC / Construction industry
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute growth plans
  • Proven ability to build relationships and generate business opportunities
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable in a client-facing, networking-heavy role
  • Experience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive mindset
  • Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related AEC field
  • Familiarity with Philadelphia market and public works projects
  • Understanding of PA procurement processes (A/E/C/CM)
  • Experience with bid platforms and opportunity tracking tools
  • Established network within the Greater Philadelphia construction/engineering community
  • Bachelor’s degree (A/E/C) or equivalent.

Compensation

  • $80,000 – $100,000 base salary
  • Performance-based bonus
