Role summary
Inland Valve Corporation Ltd. is seeking an Application & Automation Engineer for a full-time, on-site role in Edmonton, AB. This technical engineering position focuses on control valve sizing, selection, and automation solutions for industrial applications, primarily in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, and Mining sectors. Responsibilities include reviewing RFQs and process data, developing technical quotes, supporting customers and internal teams, and troubleshooting engineered valve packages. Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an
Application & Automation Engineer
based in Edmonton, AB. This is a technical, engineering-focused position responsible for
control valve sizing, selection, and valve automation solutions
for a wide range of industrial applications.
Key responsibilities include reviewing RFQs and process data, developing optimal valve and automation solutions, and supporting both customers and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves working closely with manufacturers and outside sales, preparing technical quotes, and ensuring solutions are aligned with real operating conditions. The individual will also support troubleshooting, commissioning, and application reviews for engineered valve packages.
Qualifications
- CET, EIT, or P.Eng (Mechanical, Instrumentation, or related discipline)
- Strong experience with
control valve sizing and selection
- Good understanding of
industrial valves, actuators, and control systems
- Experience with valve automation (electric and pneumatic actuation) is a strong asset
- Ability to review datasheets, P&IDs, and process conditions to develop technical solutions
- Experience with troubleshooting, application support, and system diagnostics
- Strong technical writing skills for quotes and documentation
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers
- Familiarity with industries such as Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Petrochemical, or Mining
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
