Role summary

Inovestor is seeking a DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer to manage and modernize its Azure-based cloud infrastructure. This role involves ensuring system stability, security, reliability, and scalability through infrastructure maintenance, monitoring, incident management, and CI/CD pipeline improvements. The engineer will also be responsible for security and compliance processes, documentation, and collaborating with development teams and the CTO. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure, strong Azure proficiency, and excellent communication skills in both French and English.

Inovestor is seeking a DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of our cloud infrastructure and operational reliability.

Working closely with our CTO and development team, you will help stabilize, document, and modernize our existing Azure-based platform. You will also ensure our systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Own and maintain our Azure-based production infrastructure, including virtual machines, Service Fabric, databases, and networking.
  • Ensure the availability and reliability of critical systems through monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
  • Manage certificates, DNS, billing, and cloud subscriptions to prevent service disruptions.
  • Maintain and improve backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability processes.
  • Perform regular infrastructure maintenance, including patching, upgrades, cleanup, and cost optimization.

Monitoring & Incident Management

  • Monitor production systems, batch jobs, and integrations.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents across environments.
  • Improve observability using tools such as Application Insights, dashboards, and alerts.
  • Reduce operational risk by identifying single points of failure and undocumented processes.

DevOps & Automation

  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
  • Manage secrets, service connections, and deployment workflows.
  • Contribute to the evolution of infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Automate operational tasks and deployments.

Security & Compliance

  • Support SOC 2-related operational and security processes, including monitoring, controls, and reporting.
  • Manage access, endpoint protection, and cloud security posture.
  • Ensure systems follow best practices for secure, always-on environments.

Knowledge Transfer & Documentation

  • Document infrastructure and operational processes.
  • Produce deployment and disaster recovery documentation.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with developers on deployments, debugging, and system improvements.
  • Partner with the CTO on infrastructure direction and modernization initiatives.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and internal tooling processes.

Profile Sought

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud, or infrastructure roles.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written, is required. The incumbent will be required to communicate regularly with English-speaking clients, partners, or suppliers located in Canada, and to read, write, and process documents in both languages.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience managing production systems with high availability requirements.
  • Solid understanding of the following:
  • Networking, DNS, and certificates.
  • Monitoring and incident management.
  • Backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps or equivalent.
  • Experience with scripting and automation, including PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Service Fabric, Docker, and infrastructure as code.
  • Familiarity with .NET environments.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Exposure to SOC 2 environments or processes.
