Role summary

Intrinsic, an AI robotics group at Google, seeks a Robotics Software Engineer specializing in Intelligent Manufacturing Automation. This role involves developing and deploying end-to-end automation processes for electronic manufacturing, integrating new capabilities, and supporting robotic systems in production. The engineer will utilize the Intrinsic platform, ROS, and AI capabilities, collaborating with internal teams and industry partners. Key skills include C++ and/or Python programming, foundational robotics and automation understanding, and strong collaboration. Preferred skills include experience with ROS 2, Kubernetes, gRPC, Protobuf, Bazel, microservices, and real-time systems.

## Role

As a Robotics Software Engineer specializing in Intelligent Manufacturing Automation, you will closely collaborate with our automation group and industry partners to advance manufacturing automation by developing and deploying end-to-end automation processes for electronic manufacturing. Your daily responsibilities will include integrating and developing new processes and capabilities for manufacturing automation, as well as supporting the deployment of impactful robotic systems in production.

## How your work moves the mission forward

  • Contribute to the technical development and integration of advanced robotic automation solutions for manufacturing automation, utilizing the Intrinsic platform, ROS and state-of-the-art AI capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with our automation team and industry partners to successfully develop and integrate automation capabilities into factory settings.
  • Document designs, processes, and results, communicating effectively with internal technical teams and our partners.

## Skills you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical background in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
  • Foundational understanding of robotics and automation, with a strong desire to learn and contribute to their application in manufacturing environments.
  • Programming proficiency with C++ and/or Python.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal cross-functional teams and external technical partners.

## Skills that will differentiate your candidacy

  • Experience with ROS 2 and its major frameworks.
  • Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, gRPC, Protobuf, Bazel, microservice architectures, and/or real-time systems.
