Role summary

ISHPI is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) in modernizing and enhancing enterprise applications. This remote role focuses on systematic test automation, creating and maintaining test plans, procedures, code, and data. The SDET will collaborate with development teams to implement automated test cases, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, and conduct various levels of testing (integration, system, regression, stress). The position requires leveraging Generative AI tools for test generation and analysis, performing quality assurance audits, and ensuring adherence to DMDC standards. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, 3+ years of relevant software experience, and experience with automated testing tools are required. A CompTIA Security+ CE certification and U.S. Citizenship with the ability to pass a government background investigation are also mandatory.

Overview:

*ISHPI* supports the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) by developing, modernizing, and enhancing its enterprise applications. We provide sustainment services by maintaining, securing, and supporting the applications.

Responsibilities:

  • You will perform systematic, independent testing with focus on test automation
  • You will create and maintain test plans, test procedures, test code, and test data
  • You will collaborate closely with the software development team to identify, design, and implement automated test cases based on requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • You will support integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • You will ensure all software components are unit tested, and follow test plans to conduct integration test, system test, regression test, and stress test for software releases
  • You will coordinate and execute testing activities across multiple environments to support controlled releases
  • You will follow an agile development methodology
  • You will leverage Government‑approved Generative AI (GenAI) tools to support activities such as code analysis, documentation drafting, and automated test generation
  • You will perform peer reviews of test cases
  • You will provide release notes
  • You will record test incidents, ensure that all are resolved, and provide test results
  • You will ensure the team adheres to DMDC standards
  • You will perform quality assurance audits and ensure that the team follows best practices for quality as specified in the Quality Assurance Plan and throughout the SDLC
  • You will ensure the team has conducted code reviews throughout the development activity
  • You will create and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix
  • You will conduct reviews of all created/updated documents before being delivered to the Government to ensure quality

Qualifications:

Requirements (education/experience/certifications):

  • 3+ years of relevant software experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated tests using testing tools

Preferences (education/experience/certifications):

  • Experience with software projects for U.S. Federal government/DoD/DoW
  • Prior DMDC experience strongly preferred

Clearance: Requires U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a Government background investigation for position of trust.

Required Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or higher

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position is $73,000 - $93,000. Please note that any salary information disclosed is a general guideline only. Ishpi considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
