This role involves full-stack application development, cloud-based data systems, and BIM/3D modeling at the intersection of engineering, construction, and manufacturing. You will develop internal applications and cloud-native systems, incorporating BIM and production data integrations to enhance efficiency in procurement, production, and project delivery. The position requires high ownership and the ability to bridge technical systems with real-world fabrication workflows, with a focus on C#/.NET, Azure, and PostgreSQL.

Software Engineer – Digital Construction Platforms
who can operate across full-stack application development, cloud-based data systems, and BIM/3D modeling at the intersection of engineering, construction, and manufacturing. You will develop internal applications and cloud-native systems that incorporate BIM and production data integrations to drive efficiency across procurement, production, and project delivery. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, construction, and manufacturing, owning the tools and platforms that transform design intent into fabricated reality.

You will develop custom BIM integrations, internal applications, and cloud-native systems that drive efficiency across procurement, production, and project delivery. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role ideal for someone who can bridge technical systems with real-world fabrication workflows.

Accountabilities:

  • Build structured data pipelines that move model data into production databases and operational applications.
  • Design and build internal web applications that support production tracking, procurement, and project management
  • Develop and maintain APIs and integrations that connect BIM data with ERP, inventory, and fabrication systems
  • Develop and maintain a fabrication release management application built on a C#/.NET full stack, Blazor frontend, and PostgreSQL database
  • Collaborate on the development of a new visual production tracking application with a C#/.NET backend, PostgreSQL database, and TypeScript, React/Next.js, and Three.js frontend
  • Translate business and operational requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions
  • Architect and deploy cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure using microservices and containerized architectures
  • Design and manage relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar) and ensure secure data access through authentication and authorization frameworks
  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions that connect BIM/3D modeling environments with fabrication, procurement, and project delivery workflows to extract component data, geometry attributes, and assembly information from 3D models.
  • Explore and implement emerging technologies such as generative AI and machine learning to enhance automation, insights, and decision-making
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project management, BIM, and operations teams to gather requirements and deliver impactful solutions
  • Apply 3D mathematics — vectors, matrices, quaternions, and spatial transformations — to build accurate, performant model interactions in the browser

Authorities:

  • Lead user interviews, define requirements, and document technical designs and architecture decisions

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in
C#/.NET
(primary language)
- Full-stack development experience, including:
- Backend API development
- Frontend development using Blazor and TypeScript, React/Next.js, and Three.js
- Experience with
cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
, including microservices and containerized applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or data processing
  • Familiarity with one or more BIM or 3D modeling APIs, such as:
  • Autodesk Inventor API
  • Rhino/Grasshopper as a data scripting and extraction environment
  • Revit API
  • Familiarity with openBIM standards and frameworks, including IFC and BCF
  • Experience with ERP integrations or production tracking systems
  • Background in AECO, fabrication, or manufacturing software environments
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) for connecting AI agents to live data sources and tools
  • Familiarity with AI agentic frameworks and workflows, including LangChain/LangGraph, AutoGen, or the OpenAI Agents SDK
  • Exposure to Generative AI or machine learning applied to operational or production data

Salary Range:
$130,000-140,000

The position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using a computer, along with sufficient manual dexterity to operate computers, mobile devices, and related IT equipment. The role may occasionally involve lifting or moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, as well as bending, crawling, or climbing—such as accessing under desks or server racks. Candidates must possess the ability to concentrate, troubleshoot, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills. The role also demands effective task prioritization, management of multiple simultaneous support requests, and a capacity to quickly learn and adapt to evolving technologies and tools.
