We are seeking an Energy Data Analyst, with experience in Historical Utility Bill audits. The role will be responsible for conducting comprehensive reviews and analyses of utility billing data to identify billing errors, cost recovery opportunities, and consumption anomalies. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and expertise in utility rate structures to ensure billing accuracy and optimize energy expenditures across client property portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed audits of historical utility invoices (electricity, gas, water, sewer) to identify billing discrepancies, overcharges, and erroneous fees
- Analyze utility rate tariffs and contractual terms to validate proper application of rates, surcharges, and taxes
- Review meter data and consumption patterns to detect anomalies, leaks, or unusual usage trends
- Quantify financial impacts of billing errors and prepare cost recovery claims for utility providers
- Develop and maintain audit tracking systems and databases for ongoing monitoring
- Generate detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and potential savings opportunities
- Collaborate with facility management teams and utility providers to resolve billing disputes
- Ensure compliance with utility regulations and contract terms
- Support ongoing bill payment processes by identifying and resolving balance forward issues and late fee assessments

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, energy management, engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in energy data analysis and management, or sustainability within large operations.
