Dice is seeking an Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for iSphere, a contract-to-hire role in Tacoma. The engineer will design, build, migrate, and support Microsoft Azure environments, focusing on operations, cloud migrations, hybrid connectivity, and reducing on-prem data center dependence. Responsibilities include managing Azure subscriptions, compute, storage, networking, security, and automation, as well as assessing and migrating on-prem workloads. Experience with Windows Server/Linux administration, VPN, DNS, routing, monitoring, backup, and recovery is required.

Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Contract-to-Hire)

Position Summary
Seeking a hands-on infrastructure engineer to design, build, migrate, and support Microsoft Azure environments. This role will focus on Azure operations, cloud migrations, hybrid connectivity, infrastructure reliability, and reducing dependence on on-prem data centers.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support Azure subscriptions, resource groups, RBAC, policies, tagging, and environment separation.
  • Manage Azure compute, storage, networking, and related platform services.
  • Monitor performance, availability, and operational health.
  • Manage Azure budgets, alerts, and usage reporting.

  • Assess on-prem workloads for migration to Azure.
  • Execute migration plans and validate post-migration stability.
  • Support the retirement of legacy systems and the reduction of the data center footprint.

< data-end="2202" data-start="2178"> Hybrid Connectivity

  • Support connectivity between Azure, offices, and field locations.
  • Manage VPN, DNS, routing, and secure access.

< data-end="2343" data-start="2319"> Security & Controls

  • Maintain patching, logging, secure access, and least privilege standards.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and audit documentation.

< data-end="2513" data-start="2482"> Automation & Documentation

  • Build scripts, templates, and runbooks.
  • Maintain diagrams, dependencies, and support documentation.

  • Support Microsoft Fabric / related Azure data services as needed.

  • Participate in after-hours support when needed.
  • Support infrastructure projects and upgrades.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years infrastructure engineering experience
  • 3+ years hands-on Azure production support
  • Experience with Azure compute, storage, networking
  • Experience migrating on-prem workloads to Azure
  • Windows Server and/or Linux administration
  • Knowledge of VPN, DNS, routing
  • Experience with monitoring, backup, and recovery
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Preferred

  • Microsoft Fabric or Azure data services
  • Azure certifications
  • Scripting / automation experience
