Role summary
Joveo is seeking a Data Scientist to join their remote-first team. This role focuses on leveraging AI and cutting-edge machine learning techniques, particularly in NLP and predictive analytics, to enhance their programmatic job advertising platform. The Data Scientist will develop and deploy models for job embeddings, occupation classification, and applicant forecasting, working closely with Product Managers and Software Engineers in cross-functional pods. Key responsibilities include fine-tuning language-agnostic embedding models, utilizing transfer learning and predictive algorithms like XGBoost to reduce client Cost-Per-Applicant (CPA), and identifying AI/ML applications to mitigate bias in recruitment. Proficiency in Python and experience with big data frameworks and cloud deployment are essential.

The Role (TL;DR):
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our cross-functional pods. You will build and deploy state-of-the-art NLP models (like SentenceBERT) and predictive algorithms to optimize job embeddings, occupation classification, and applicant forecasting.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and fine-tune language-agnostic embedding models to process millions of job postings.
- Work with transfer learning models and predictive techniques (XGBoost, gradient boosting) to lower Cost-Per-Applicant (CPA) for our clients.
- Partner directly with Product Managers and Software Engineers in decentralized, semi-autonomous pods to push code into production.
- Identify opportunities to use AI/ML to eliminate bias in recruitment advertising.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in building machine learning models, specifically in NLP and predictive analytics.
- Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Gensim).
- Experience with big data frameworks and deploying models into cloud environments.
