
Lead Software Engineer - iOS Mobile Tech Lead
Role summary
JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for their Commercial & Community Banking division. This role involves enhancing, building, and delivering technology products within an agile team. Responsibilities include executing software solutions, designing, developing, troubleshooting, and writing secure production code. The lead will also identify automation opportunities, lead vendor evaluations, and drive communities of practice for new technologies. The position requires formal training or certification in Native Mobile Engineering with 5+ years of experience, and 10+ years of experience leading technologists in complex technical problem-solving within their domain. Expertise in iOS frameworks, Xcode tools, data structures, multi-threading, design patterns, automated testing, build systems, and API integration is essential. The role is hybrid and full-time.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Community Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Formal training or certification on Native Mobile Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- 10+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
- Experienced in iOS frameworks (Foundation, UIKit, SwiftUI, CocoaTouch, Core Data) and Xcode tools (Debug Memory Graph, Debug View Hierarchy, Instruments), as well as Android technologies (Android SDK, Jetpack, XML layouts, Jetpack Compose, Android Studio profiling tools).
- A Strong experience with Data Structures, Type Conversions, Multi-Threading. Experience with One or more Design Patterns – MVC, MVVM, MVI, MVP, Singleton, Viper
- Enthusiasm for automated testing and experience with unit testing frameworks
- Understanding of build systems such as Gradle, Jenkins, SPM.
- Worked in an Agile development environment and well versed with agile ceremonies
- Experience working with API integration, distributed systems, caching, and persistence solutions.
- Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence, Customer-focused mindset, taking pride in creating an informative data-driven journey
