Location: Hybrid Mississauga, ON / Houston, TX

We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst / Product Owner to support our enterprise billing system within the IT department.

This role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and our external billing vendor. The resource will translate business objectives into actionable functional and technical requirements, coordinate solution delivery, and ensure system stability and compliance. They will also serve as the single point of contact for support needs and coordination between internal and vendor IT teams. This position requires strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate must be an experienced individual who is able to work with minimal supervision, contribute to a positive work environment, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously. They should also have a solid understanding of billing processes and system integrations. Your key accountabilities:

  • Accountable to the Product Manager and communicating with business partners, stakeholders, and vendor teams.
  • Partner with operational groups to gather and analyze business requirements related to billing, invoicing, and revenue operations.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories for JE IT team and vendor.
  • Ensure all requirements are technically feasible, clearly documented, and aligned with system capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary IT contact for business inquiries related to billing functionality and workflows.
  • Engage with business and IT stakeholders to manage and prioritize billing system backlog and projects to align IT priorities with business objectives.
  • Work closely with the external billing system vendor to review solution designs, assess impacts, and validate technical approaches. Ensure vendor solutions adhere to internal architectural and security standards.
  • Coordinate testing efforts (functional, integration, and UAT) and ensure prompt resolution of issues.
  • Manage projects and changes assigned throughout the SDLC; from inception to roll-out.
  • Remove obstacles, Inform and enable project teams for successful implementation.
  • Maintain system and process documentation, including requirements, test cases, and configuration details.
  • Create tools in various platforms (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) to help manage the day-to-day responsibilities or create reports for various functional areas.

Your background includes:

  • Undergraduate degree preferably of a technical or engineering orientation.
  • Minimum 7 years of combined experience, at least 5 years as Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner, or a similar technical role.
  • Strong skills and experience working with SQL, hands-on data analysis & manipulation, and relational databases.
  • Experience with Commercial billing system (e.g., utilities, telecom, SaaS, finance, healthcare) is preferred
  • Knowledge of EDI transactions, system to system communication, and integration flows between CRM/other systems and billing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data flows, integrations, and system dependencies across billing, CRM, and financial applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with experience writing business requirements, user stories and use cases, process flows, and functional specifications.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and software development life cycle is a must.
  • Stakeholder management – Engaging with business users, IT teams, and vendors to align expectations.
  • Experience as part of an Agile Team (in a distributed setting in multiple geographic locations) with demonstrated understanding of the Agile mindset would be a desired skill.

Compensation: $74,930 - $101,160 CAD Annual \*This range reflects base pay only. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company & personal performance. Please note the compensation is listed in compliance with Ontario law and is specific to CA. It does not apply to similar roles based in the United States.
