About the Role

We are looking for a Product Designer & Production Lead who can take ownership of our collections from concept to final production.

This is a hybrid role combining:

  • Apparel design
  • Product development
  • Production leadership

You will be responsible not only for how products look, but also for how they are executed, produced, and delivered.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Product Development

  • Develop seasonal kidswear collections aligned with KIDORCA’s aesthetic
  • Create technical flats and detailed tech packs
  • Design custom prints and surface patterns
  • Select fabrics, trims, and finishes
  • Refine silhouettes, fits, and functional details

Production Leadership

  • Communicate with manufacturers (email-based)
  • Lead the sampling process and revisions
  • Control measurements, fit, and quality
  • Review and approve samples before production
  • Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and timelines
  • Ensure consistency between design and final product

Brand & Visual Support

  • Create catalogues and product presentations
  • Support visual direction for collections
  • Assist with design elements for Instagram content

Qualifications

  • Experience in apparel design and product development
  • Strong understanding of garment construction and technical development
  • Experience working with manufacturers and managing production
  • Ability to create professional tech packs
  • Strong aesthetic sense (minimal, elevated, lifestyle-focused)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable taking ownership and making decisions

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (required)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience creating technical flats and tech packs
  • Familiarity with surface pattern design
  • InDesign (asset, not required but preferred)

Compensation

  • $22/hour base pay
  • 1% commission on net sales (based on funds deposited into the main company’s account)
  • Commission is calculated monthly and paid with the monthly payroll cycle
