Role summary

Seeking an AI Workflow Automation Engineer to design high-quality prompt instructions and build AI-assisted workflows/agents that reduce manual effort and improve operational output consistency and speed within an e-commerce experimentation program. This role focuses on an output-first approach, reverse-engineering and automating workflows through iterative refinement and experimentation. The engineer will partner cross-functionally with product, data, and organizational teams to drive adoption and effectiveness of these agents and workflows, requiring a hands-on "doer" mentality comfortable with ambiguity and trial-and-error. The position involves working with enterprise GenAI tools and structuring operational content in tools like Airtable.

Job Role - AI Workflow Automation Engineer

  • This experimentation program is all about identifying friction points in the ecommerce experience (site entry, product page, product finding, search, checkout, etc.) and producing solutions/tests to run to optimize each aspect of the funnel.
  • This domain works very quickly – idea to execution – 2 weeks > if/when the experiment “wins,” this PDM will then work with the development team to implement.

Project Description

Seeking an expert who can design high‑quality prompt instructions and build AI‑assisted workflows/agents that reduce repetitive manual effort across tools and improve the consistency and speed of operational outputs. The role will focus on defining the desired output first, then reverse‑engineering and automating the workflow to reliably produce that deliverable through iterative refinement and experimentation.

This individual will partner cross‑functionally with product, data, and organizational teams to drive adoption and effectiveness of the agent/workflows, recognizing that successful automation will require trial‑and‑error and ongoing tuning.

Duties/Day to Day Overview

·

  • Create, test, and refine prompt instructions (persona‑driven where needed) to consistently generate target outputs (newsletters, summaries, status updates, visuals).
  • Design and implement AI‑assisted workflows that orchestrate data/tasks across tools (e.g., Airtable workflows into Claude/LLMs; workflow scheduling and output delivery).
  • Define desired deliverables first, then reverse‑engineer automation to reliably produce them (output‑first approach).
  • Build an organizationally usable agent and drive adoption—partnering with product, data, and operational stakeholders to ensure it is effective and used correctly.
  • Identify manual, repetitive cross‑app processes and redesign them into automated workflows with measurable time savings and improved consistency.
  • Support standardized reporting outputs (e.g., weekly test status/trend reporting) and implement a human‑in‑the‑loop model when needed.
  • Enable internal teams: document how workflows work, provide hands‑on coaching, and help others learn how to maintain or extend automations.
  • Work within the existing integrated AI ecosystem (ChatGPT, Claude Enterprise, Copilot; plus CoWork, Gamma, Figma where applicable).

Top Requirements

(Must haves)

·

  • Demonstrated experience creating high‑quality prompt instructions and iterating them to achieve consistent, reliable outputs.
  • Proven ability to design and build AI‑assisted workflows (automation + orchestration), including experimentation and iterative improvement.
  • Hands‑on capability to build (not just advise): a “doer” who can independently create and ship working workflows/agents. Comfort operating in ambiguous problems with trial‑and‑error to reach an effective automation outcome.
  • Experience working with enterprise GenAI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude Enterprise, and/or Copilot, and integrating them into business workflows.
  • Experience structuring operational content in tools like Airtable and orchestrating automations from structured data sources into AI outputs (newsletter generation example).
  • Ability to build workflow outputs that are executive‑consumable (clear narratives, appropriate visuals), aligning to the “BI‑minded” requirement for what good output looks like.
  • Ability to partner with product, data, and organizational teams to drive adoption and effective usage of the agent/workflows.

Soft Skills

·

  • Self-starter who can ramp up quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels of end users and technical resources harmoniously. Comfortable presenting program strategy and results to senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and a curious nature.
  • High energy and results oriented with a passion for the role. Looking to drive improvements and change.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data insights clearly to various stakeholders.
