Role summary

We are seeking a Java Backend Engineer for a contract-to-hire position. The role requires strong Core Java fundamentals, including OOP, data structures, and algorithms. Candidates must be able to write code without framework dependencies like Spring Boot and have experience building backend services and microservices. This is a hands-on coding role where the engineer will own end-to-end delivery within a small team. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), API integrations, and distributed systems is preferred, as is familiarity with Agile/DevOps practices. The position is W2 only and offers a hybrid work model with remote flexibility for strong candidates.

Must-Have Skills (Strict Requirements)

- Strong
Core Java fundamentals
(OOP, data structures, algorithms)
- Ability to
write code without frameworks (NO Spring Boot dependency)
- Experience building
backend services / microservices
- Hands-on coding ability (not just design/management)
- Comfortable explaining code logic and decisions
- Experience working in
small teams / owning end-to-end delivery

Nice to Have

- Experience with
