Engineer – Oakland
As an Engineer, you will support energy efficiency projects through data analysis, field verification, and technical assessments. Under the guidance of senior staff, you will assist with planning and executing project tasks, performing basic engineering calculations related to energy use and savings, and developing your technical skills through hands-on project experience.
You will contribute to fieldwork activities such as documenting existing and upgraded equipment and identifying opportunities for energy-saving measures. In this role, you’ll participate in technical analyses that inform program development and project implementation.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing energy use and identifying trends or patterns related to weather, occupancy, and operational variables.
- Support energy engineers in evaluating building performance, including HVAC, lighting, and controls systems.
- Contribute to energy audits and field assessments by gathering data, performing basic calculations, and documenting findings.
- Help review standardized analysis outputs for accuracy, under supervision.
- Participate in site visits and interact professionally with clients and on-site personnel under guidance.
- Learn and apply company tools, methods, and best practices in energy efficiency projects.
- Perform other duties as needed.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred; candidates with equivalent coursework or demonstrated interest in energy efficiency also encouraged to apply.
- Up to 1 year of relevant experience (internships, academic projects, or related work a plus).
- Interest in building systems, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
- Basic understanding of relationships between energy use.
This position offers a salary range of $75,000–$80,000. The final salary will be based on the selected candidate’s skills, relevant experience, and location.
