Role Overview
We are looking for a Data Analyst to support purchasing and inventory decisions through data analysis and forecasting. The role involves analyzing historical sales data, building demand forecasts, and helping optimize buying decisions. The ideal candidate is strong in SQL and has some coding experience to automate analysis and improve forecasting models.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze historical sales and inventory data to support buying decisions
- Build and maintain demand forecasting models
- Write SQL queries to extract and analyze data from databases
- Identify trends, seasonality, and purchasing patterns
- Develop reports and dashboards for purchasing and operations teams
- Assist in automating reporting and forecasting processes using code
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve inventory planning
Required Skills
- Strong SQL experience for querying and data manipulation
- Experience with data analysis and forecasting
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets
- Some coding experience in Python, R, or similar languages
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with demand forecasting or inventory planning a plus
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Experience working with large datasets
- Experience in retail, supply chain, or e-commerce analytics
Nice to Have
- Experience building forecasting models or predictive analytics
- Ability to automate data workflows

Compensation:
This is a contractor role to start to ensure company fit. The pay range is $30-$50/hour for 32-40 hours/week depending on experience.
