Manufacturing Automation Engineer - Mechanical
Role summary
The Manufacturing Automation Engineer will be responsible for the implementation and validation of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) on the shop floor. This role involves selecting AMRs, preparing RFQs, coordinating with vendors, conducting site assessments, and ensuring infrastructure readiness. Key responsibilities include supporting integration with WMS/MES/ERP systems, commissioning AMR hardware, configuring workflows, setting up network connectivity, and executing UAT test cases. The engineer will also align with EHS teams on operational safety and validate support documentation. A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
Job Description & Skill Requirement:
- AMR Implementation on shop floor
- selection of AMR, Expert on Field of AMR
- RFQ Preparation for AMR Implementation requirement.
- Coordination with vendor for technical guidance and Quote.
- Conduct site assessment and operational survey for AMR
- CAD Designing software- SolidWorks, AutoCAD
- Validate AMR operating zones, paths, storage locations, and docking areas.
- Assess infrastructure readiness including floor conditions, lighting, obstacles, and Wi. Fi coverage.
- Support vendors for gathering integration points with WMS/MES/ERP systems.
- Support for Commission AMR hardware including initial checks, firmware updates, and Validation.
- Support Vendor for Configure workflows: pickup, transport, drop. Off, mission types.
- Coordinate for Set up connectivity between AMRs, fleet manager, and network infrastructure.
- Validate speed limits, emergency stop functions, and safe. Zone compliance.
- Align with EHS team regarding AMR operation, walkways, and restricted areas.
- Execute predefined UAT test cases covering all workflows.
- Validate Support Document creation and implementation.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
The expected salary range for this position is between $55,000 to $1,00,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
