Senior Data Scientist
Role summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist who excels at both technical execution and business communication. This role involves end-to-end project delivery, from understanding ambiguous executive requests to automating data pipelines. You will be responsible for rapid, executive-level delivery, leveraging LLMs and Python for intelligent automation. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem-solver, adept at navigating technical and organizational challenges, and capable of mentoring junior staff. Required qualifications include proficiency in SQL and Python, experience with BI tools like Tableau, practical LLM application, and proven automation skills. Bonus points for graphic design, call center operations experience, or data architecture knowledge.
The Role
We are looking for a rare analytics and/or data science professional who combines elite business communication with hands-on technical execution. You aren't just a builder; you are a problem-solver who can navigate corporate bureaucracy and sub-optimal tech stacks to deliver executive-ready solutions. You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery from interpreting ambiguous executive requests to automating the final data pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapid Delivery:
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics projects with urgency (often 48–72 hour windows).
- Executive-Level Delivery:
You will be fulfilling critical requests for senior leadership. You must be able to "put on an executive hat" anticipating the "so what?" behind the data and delivering polished, high-impact results that require zero cleanup. Being an exceptionally good listener and following through on requirements will both be critical to success.
- Intelligent Automation:
Architect your own workflows using LLMs, Python to ensure work is scalable, reusable, and faster than manual processes. Experience using orchestrators and schedulers is a strong plus.
- Strategic Problem Solving:
Find creative "workarounds" for technical hurdles, permission blocks, and shifting political priorities without losing momentum.
- Mentorship:
Serve as a technical and professional coach for junior staff, upleveling their output and accountability.
Required Qualifications
- The "Accountability" Bar:
You have a history of setting your own milestones, meeting/exceeding deadlines, and taking 100% ownership of your code and results.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Data:
Fluent in SQL and Python (Mid-level proficiency required; higher a plus).
- Visualization:
Proficient-level experience with data cubes and BI tools (Tableau preferred; expert level a plus).
- AI/LLM:
Practical experience with LLMs and prompt engineering; able to articulate the risks, limitations, and "hallucination" hurdles of the tech.
- Automation:
Proven experience using orchestrators to automate repetitive tasks and data flows.
- Business Acumen:
High-polish presentation skills; ability to remain composed and confident in front of executives.
- Resilience:
High tolerance for rapid pivoting and "red tape." You view sub-optimal tech stacks as a puzzle, not a barrier.
Bonus Points
- Visual Storytelling:
A background in graphic design or a knack for building beautiful, intuitive decks and dashboards.
- Domain Expertise:
Previous experience working within or for Call Center operations.
- Data Architecture:
Foundational knowledge of data engineering principles.
