The Opportunity:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Backend Engineer to join our growing technology team. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining high-volume, transactional APIs that power our innovative pharmacy platform. This is a chance to make a substantial impact on a company transforming the healthcare industry, with a strong focus on security and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable APIs using NodeJS, Java, Python, or other relevant backend technologies.
• Build high-volume, transactional APIs that support critical pharmacy operations.
• Extensive experience with AWS, utilizing both server and serverless architectures.
• Experience handling relational and non-relational data, using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with in-memory data stores like Redis, Memcached, or Elasticache.
• Implement and adhere to security best practices, encryption, and compliance standards for handling sensitive customer information.
• Ensure the performance, security, and reliability of backend systems.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers and other team members to integrate APIs and deliver seamless user experiences.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our development processes.
• Optimize API performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Utilize GitHub and GitHub Actions for version control and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Adhere to Agile methodologies.

Qualifications:

• 5-8 yrs of proven experience in backend development, specifically building APIs.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages such as NodeJS, Java, or Python.
• Extensive experience with AWS, including server and serverless architectures.
• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building high-volume, transactional APIs.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles.
• Experience with in-memory data stores like Redis, Memcached, or Elasticache.
• Strong understanding of security best practices, encryption, and compliance for handling sensitive data.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Experience with message queueing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in the healthcare or pharmacy industry.
• Contributions to open-source projects.

Pay:

$120,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year with Bonus Opportunity
