Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Platform - Financial Eng)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (platform - Financial Eng) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will drive meaningful impact across key initiatives and partner cross-functionally to deliver measurable outcomes. You will work closely with stakeholders to execute against strategic priorities and scale performance. The position offers the opportunity to influence both strategy and execution in a high-growth environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $186,065 – $218,900 annually
Responsibilities

• Build new services to meet critical product and business needs using Golang
• Design scalable systems to address novel problems with cloud technology
• Articulate a long-term vision for backend system maintenance and scaling
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create a quarterly technical roadmap
• Write high-quality, well-tested code that fulfills user requirements

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience in building performant, large scale distributed systems
• Proven experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services
• Strong ability to write high-quality, well-tested code at the customer-focused level
• Proficient in solving complex engineering problems aligned with team objectives
• Experience in mentoring junior developers and leading technical initiatives
• Demonstrated passion for open financial systems and their global impact
• Familiarity with generative AI tools, applying them effectively in engineering processes
