For our client, we are seeking a Manager, Data Engineering – Commerce to join the team of a leader in the Hospitality & Recreation space. This role will shape high-impact initiatives at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution. You will partner across technical and business teams to turn complex ideas into scalable solutions and meaningful outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to influence both roadmap priorities and long-term organizational capability.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $446,000 – $752,000 annually
Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a high-performing team of data and software engineers
  • Develop and execute a clear roadmap for core data initiatives and engineering goals
  • Oversee the design and scaling of reliable data products for experimentation and analytics
  • Build reusable data frameworks and automation capabilities to enhance productivity
  • Drive best practices for data modeling, pipeline architecture, and observability
  • Champion the concept of data products focusing on discoverability and documentation
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience managing Data Engineering teams
  • Strong background in data engineering, distributed systems, and large-scale data processing technologies (e.g., Spark, Flink)
  • Experience building shared tooling, infrastructure, or platform features for data engineering
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on long-term architectural value and infrastructure efficiency
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills for building consensus and alignment
  • Passionate about the business value of data and experience in the commerce/acquisition domain
