Role summary

ATC Manufacturing is seeking a tech-savvy, data-driven Accounting and Data Analyst to manage financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. This role involves full-cycle accounting, preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and providing accounting expertise for government programs. A key aspect of this position is driving business intelligence initiatives by developing dashboards using Power BI/Smartsheet, streamlining data collection, and training stakeholders. The ideal candidate will blend traditional accounting with technology-driven process improvement in a manufacturing setting, demonstrating proficiency in Excel, SQL, ERP systems, and automation tools.

Position Summary

The Accounting and Data Analyst plays a critical role in managing the financial reporting, analysis, and compliance needs for our manufacturing company. This individual will also serve as a key contributor to our compliance and operations accounting, in addition to driving our business intelligence initiatives—developing dashboards and working with our operations team to streamline and interpret data collection and input tracking across the entire operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recording, reconciling, and maintaining accurate full cycle accounting (Cash, AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets, expense, GL etc.).
  • Preparing and interpreting monthly financial reports, product, and profitability analysis, supplier requests, as needed.
  • Support and actively participate in month-end and year-end close, internal, and external audits, and other compliance and reporting.
  • Provide accounting support and technical knowledge for government-funded and government-contracted (DCAA) programs.
  • Develop and maintain intuitive data dashboards using tools Power BI/Smartsheet’s.
  • Train internal stakeholders on system usage and data integrity practices.
  • Find clever ways to bring transparency and to automate tasks related to job processes.
  • Maintain a high standard of ethics and knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management information systems or finance degree, with emphasis in data management, computer science or similar.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 1+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or MIS.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Eager to learn and demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to analyze detailed financial and operational data.
  • Working knowledge of AI-enabled and automation tools (e.g., workflow automation, data extraction, reporting augmentation, or process optimization tools) and the ability to evaluate where they can responsibly improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and resiliency in learning and applying emerging technologies, with sound judgment for integrating automation and AI tools within accounting, compliance, and data governance best practices.
  • Proficient in or demonstrated aptitude toward proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data lookups, charts/visualization), SQL, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of core accounting principles (debits/credits, assets, liabilities, equity, T- accounts, financial statements, and their relationships).
  • Experience with government contracts, DCAA regulated environments, or audit support is preferred.
  • Manufacturing company experience preferred.
  • Prior involvement in operational technology rollouts or process digitization preferred.

Compensation:

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
