Role summary

The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

## The impact you’ll make

Join Lam as an AI/ML Engineer, where you will design, develop, and program methods to analyze unstructured and diverse big data and transform it into actionable insights. You will develop algorithms and automated processes to evaluate large data sets from disparate sources. Your expertise in generating, interpreting, and clearly communicating actionable insights enables Lam to make informed, data-driven decisions.

## What you’ll do

  • Work with various stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and customers to identify product requirements.
  • Design the backend architecture using domain-driven design principles. Involve SMEs in the design loop to ensure domain accuracy and relevance.
  • Write and execute tests, and debug issues in both front-end and back-end code.
  • Set up environments, automate deployments, monitor performance, and perform regular updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to develop productivity products.

## Who we’re looking for

  • Ph.D with 3+ years of experience with a degree in Data Science, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with mathematical modeling and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases such as SQLite, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, and C++
  • Product Development, hardware design, and productivity
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, and a team-oriented mindset.

## Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with domain-driven design and test-driven development.
  • Familiarity with software development best practices in team settings, including version control (Git), documentation, and unit testing.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $119,000.00 - $261,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
