Role summary

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for deploying and supporting real-time asset tracking solutions for prototype hardware shipments. This role involves coordinating daily workflows, managing the shipment of tracking devices, monitoring shipment routes, and responding to alerts. The engineer will also triage exceptions, liaise with various stakeholders on compliance and documentation, and support site enablement. Key responsibilities include data quality checks, maintaining documentation, preparing reports, and collaborating cross-functionally to improve processes. The position requires onsite work in Santa Monica, CA, with a focus on local candidates.

Job Summary – IT Infrastructure Engineer (Santa Monica, CA)

  • Deploy and support real-time asset tracking solutions for prototype hardware shipments using GPS trackers, RFID/BLE tags, and asset management tools.
  • Coordinate and execute day-to-day workflows for tracked hardware shipments from manufacturing sites to global offices and recipients.
  • Prepare and manage shipment of trackers/tags to manufacturing partners, including documentation, inventory management, and support for shipping SOPs.
  • Update and monitor shipment routes, geozones, and milestones; track and respond to real-time shipment events and alerts.
  • Triage and escalate shipment exceptions (e.g., missing pings, route deviations, device issues) to vendors or engineering teams.
  • Liaise with corporate security, manufacturing partners, and vendors regarding certifications, customs documentation, and compliance.
  • Support site enablement by planning and validating zone anchor tracking at warehouses, mailrooms, and priority offices.
  • Perform light data quality checks and ensure accurate integration of tracking data with asset management tools (e.g., Oomnitza).
  • Maintain and update project trackers, SOPs, quick reference guides, and process documentation.
  • Prepare simple dashboards and status reports on shipment volumes, utilization, and exceptions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with TPMs, WIO leads, and partners; support feedback and process improvement.
  • Work onsite in Santa Monica, supporting local and global operations in California core hours.
  • Requirement: GPS tracking experience and ability to commute onsite; local Los Angeles candidates only.
