
Data Analyst I
Role summary
This is a 3-4 month contract Data Analyst I role in Houston, Texas, with a possibility of extension. The position requires 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, with candidates needing to reside in Houston and provide proof of residency. The core responsibilities involve working with imperfect operational data, designing structured data models, and translating historical data into benchmarks for leadership and clients. Advanced VBA and Excel automation skills are mandatory, including building data integrations and automating various data processes. Proficiency in Power BI is a plus. The role is not open to candidates requiring visa sponsorship.
Role: Data Specialist I
Location: Houston, Texas
Contract: 3-4 months, with possible extension
Payrate: $50.hr
Office: West Houston, 3 days onsite and 2 days remote
Benefits: No PTO. Health benefits available after 60 days.
ROLE is NOT Open to candidates on visas or requiring sponsorship.
Candidate must currently live in Houston and show proof of residency.
The role demands someone who is comfortable working in imperfect operational data environments, can design structured data models, and can translate historical execution data into credible, defensible benchmarks used by leadership and clients.
Core Technical Skills
Advanced VBA & Excel Automation
The candidate must demonstrate strong, production-grade VBA capability, not just macro recording.
Required competencies:
Designing and maintaining VBA-driven Excel tools used as operational frontends
Building two-way data integrations between Excel and databases (ADO/DAO connections) Automating: Data ingestion and validation routines
Refresh and recalculation logic for benchmarks
Error handling and user-friendly prompts
Writing modular, maintainable VBA code with version
Must have excellent attention to detail
Additional requirements include a criminal background check and drug screen.
Nice to have:
Proficiency using Power BI
