- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 5 years experience testing software/firmware
- Proven experience in embedded systems test infrastructure
- Proficiency coding in Python
- Experience with test automation and continuous integration
- In-depth knowledge of CAN bus
- Experience working on safety-critical systems
- Self-directed and motivated with the ability to work effectively in uncertain situations
- Experience with ISO26262 or similar functional safety standard in a different industry
- Experience debugging across communication protocols such as CAN, UART, etc
- Experience working with HIL platforms like dSpace, Speedgoat, VeriStand, etc
- Familiarity with Simulink and MATLAB for model-based HIL testing
- Ability to read electrical schematics and datasheets
- Proficiency coding in C/C++
- Proficient with basic lab tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron, etc.)
- Experience with test and automation frameworks (e.g. Jenkins, Pytest, TestRail, etc.)
- Experience working on high voltage and/or propulsion systems
- Basic understanding of microprocessors and associated peripherals
- Experience with startup or other small company environment

- Lightship’s mission to modernize and electrify RVs demands building cutting edge electronics and controls. As a Senior Systems Test Engineer, you will design and implement automated test infrastructure to validate our embedded software and hardware with a focus on our unique propulsion system
- To succeed, you will develop a strong understanding of how our systems work and how to break them to ensure a high bar of quality for our embedded software systems
- Design and implement Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) automated test infrastructure for our embedded systems
- Work closely with software and system owners to develop deep understanding of how our systems work
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop testing coverage requirements
- Author and execute test plans to ensure our embedded systems meet functional and safety requirements
- Root cause test failures and clearly document bugs for tracking purposes
- Support development testing in the lab and in the field
