Role summary

Seeking a long-term contract Azure Cloud Engineer to deploy, manage, and secure Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including networking, storage, and security configurations. The role requires expertise in Azure services, ARM templates, Azure CLI, PowerShell, and monitoring tools like Azure Monitor and Redis Insight. Candidates must have 5 years of Azure experience and 1 year of experience with Redis, Docker, and Kubernetes. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration is essential. The position is hybrid remote, based in New York, NY, with occasional onsite visits.

Job description:

  • Deploy and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), host pools, and profiles
  • Handle Azure networking (VNets, subnets, NSGs, firewalls) and storage (Azure Files / NetApp Files)
  • Manage subscriptions, billing, ARM templates, Azure CLI, and PowerShell
  • Implement security (Azure AD, RBAC, encryption)
  • Monitor and troubleshoot using Azure Monitor and Redis Insights

Tools & Technologies

  • Azure Portal, Azure CLI, PowerShell
  • Redis CLI, Redis Insight
  • Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus
  • Docker (basic knowledge)

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience with Azure cloud platform
  • 1+ year Redis experience
  • Familiarity with Containerization (Docker) and Orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Certification (Any of one): Azure Developer Associate / Azure Solutions Architect Expert / Redis Certified Developer or Administrator

Redis (Optional / Preferred)

  • Redis clustering, replication, persistence, and performance optimization
  • Azure Redis Cache configuration, scaling, security, and monitoring
  • Backup, disaster recovery, patching, and integration with Azure services
  • Azure Redis Cache configuration, scaling, and performance tuning

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $55.00 - $62.00 per hour
