Overview:
Serve as the primary sales leader for assigned hospitality, healthcare, institutional, and utility bedding accounts. This role is responsible for actively managing customer relationships, driving new business development, increasing sales and market share, and achieving profitable revenue growth. The Sales Director will pursue new business opportunities, expand market penetration, and build a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, trade shows, and strategic business development activities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Includes the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Actively manage and grow a portfolio of hospitality, healthcare, institutional, and utility bedding accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for key customer relationships.
- Drive profitable sales growth through proactive business development, prospecting, and acquisition of new customers within targeted market segments.
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities with hotels, resorts, healthcare systems, distributors, and institutional customers.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve revenue, profitability, customer retention, and market share objectives.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through cold calling, networking, referrals, industry relationships, and lead generation activities.
- Lead sales efforts for key customers, distributors, management companies, and other strategic channel partners.
- Conduct competitive analysis, market research, and industry trend assessments to identify opportunities and inform business strategies.
- Partner with Product Development and Merchandising teams to identify market opportunities and develop innovative products that drive revenue growth and strengthen competitive positioning.
- Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful product implementation, exceptional service, and a seamless customer experience.
- Collaborate with customers, business planning, and internal teams to develop accurate sales forecasts, demand plans, and inventory strategies.
- Develop annual sales forecasts, budgets, and growth plans in partnership with sales leadership.
- Oversee new product introductions and account implementation processes from inception through shipment.
- Monitor customer activity, sales opportunities, and order execution while partnering with Customer Service, Operations, Planning and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze sales performance, profitability, and market trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Resolve customer, product, quality, and operational issues through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Lead the sales process from prospect identification and qualification through proposal development, contract negotiation, close, and implementation.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, customer events, and association meetings to generate leads, strengthen industry relationships, increase brand visibility, and identify new business opportunities.
- Leverage trade show participation and market intelligence to uncover emerging trends, evaluate competitive activity, and support territory growth strategies.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to assigned team members, manufacturer representatives, and internal partners to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Mentor and develop team members while promoting best practices in sales execution, customer service, and account management.
- Champion a culture of customer service excellence, operational efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain proficiency in ERP, project management, and sales analytics systems to effectively manage account performance and reporting.
- Travel as required to support customer relationships, business development efforts, industry events, and revenue objectives.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5-10 years of progressive sales, business development, or account management experience, preferably within hospitality, textiles, bedding, healthcare, institutional products, or related industries, with a proven track record of successfully managing large retail accounts.
- Experience working within the consumer goods/retail industry.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer insights to drive strategic decisions.
- Understanding of the textile, bedding, hospitality, healthcare, institutional, or related industries, including market trends, procurement processes, and customer buying behavior
- Demonstrated success developing new business, increasing market share, and achieving or exceeding sales and revenue objectives.
- Experience negotiating pricing, contracts, and business agreements.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities, build a sales pipeline, and convert prospects into customers.
- Experience representing a company at trade shows, customer presentations, and industry events.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), NetSuite, Asana, and other business reporting and analytics tools.
- Ability to travel as required to meet customer needs and achieve sales objectives.

When in a corporate location, Associates in this role may spend over 90% of the day in a stationary position while using a computer or other devices. When in a manufacturing location much of the day may be spent standing and walking. Good manual dexterity is required to use common office equipment (e.g., computers, mobile devices, calculators, copiers, scanners). There is also an occasional need to position self to maintain equipment, including under tables and desks as well as the ability to move about the office and common office areas.
There is also an occasional need to bend, stoop and lift (typically less than 20 lbs.). as well as frequently touch and feel. The ability to hear and see with vision abilities in close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus is necessary

When in corporate, Associates in this role spend much of the day in a climate-controlled office environment with a low to moderate noise level.
When in a Manufacturing location in the production / warehouse areas, the Associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate however there may be areas designated as Hearing Protection required and provided earplugs are mandatory in those areas.
There may be areas of the plant and warehouse areas where exposure to heat and/or cold can occur. The Associate may be exposed to dust and floating particles used in the manufacturing, storage and inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
