Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain TS or TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Math, Operations Research, or any other related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications especially Excel or PowerPoint

The Predictive Analytics and Cost Engineering (PACE) team is a data science and analytics team that combines technical engineering attributes and financial information to create data-driven cost estimates for program capture and support. The PACE team collects, normalizes and maps data to a standard work breakdown structure (WBS) to perform data analytics for internal and external customer support and deliverables. As part of the Finance and Business Operations (F&BO) organization, this team also works closely with Engineering and Technology (E&T), Strategy and Business Development (S&BD), Program/Proposal Management and Leads, Executive leadership and external customers.
This role will include technical data collection, running cost models for captures across Space, dashboard building/automation, and communicating results to stakeholders. Additionally, the role may include developing affordability business cases, cost target allocation, and CI/PTW & ICE collaboration. The candidate selected will be asked to ingest data into a variety of models, interpret those results, perform decision analysis, and communicate findings with technical/programmatic colleagues and decision makers.
In This Position, You Will

  • Understand and implement proven cost models on relevant captures.
  • Perform cross-checks for program estimates.
  • Develop and deploy dashboards leveraged by the team.
  • Develop and present results to colleagues and senior staff.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Business Development, Program Finance, Estimating, Proposal Management, and ICE around model results.
  • Become knowledgeable and available to answer questions around cost estimates and cost drivers.
  • Work shoulder to shoulder with data science analysts building and enhancing tools/capabilities for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Have opportunities to grow/upskill in data science disciplines and technical abilities.

Desired Skills

  • Active TS or TS/SCI security clearance desired
  • Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Alteryx
  • Experience with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
  • Technical degree with business acumen – able to interpret cost and technical data, recognize their interdependencies, and apply them in forecasting models.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, analysis, statistics, etc.
  • Experience working within the space systems industry
  • Ability to communicate technically oriented material to broader team
  • Familiarity with proposal development and/or the government acquisition process
  • Strong team collaboration and leadership skills
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
