Senior Mechanical Engineer
Role summary
Locus Robotics, a leader in warehouse automation, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Hardware R&D group in Wilmington, MA. The role involves designing, analyzing, and collaborating on autonomous mobile robots and accessories. Responsibilities include defining sub-system requirements, creating designs in SolidWorks, evaluating structural integrity, optimizing for manufacturability and cost, building/testing prototypes, and working with manufacturing and suppliers. The ideal candidate has a BSME or MSME with 7+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design, robotics, design for manufacturability, prototyping, and experimental design. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Locus Robotics is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the development of our autonomous mobile robots and related accessories.
This role sits within the Hardware R&D group and focuses on design, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to bring scalable, cost-effective hardware solutions to production.
Onsite position is located at our Wilmington, MA headquarters, requiring five (5) days per week onsite. Only local candidates will be considered.

The expected base salary range for this role is $130,000 to $170,000 annually, based on external market data, plus bonus and equity. Actual offers will depend on factors such as the candidate’s experience, education, training, key or critical skills, geographic location, and current market and business conditions
