About Lookie

Lookie is a technology platform designed to modernize the out-of-home advertising industry by automating processes that currently require significant manual work. The platform helps organize media inventory, generate RFP responses, and streamline workflows for agencies, media owners, and property owners. By combining structured data systems with AI-driven automation, Lookie aims to dramatically reduce the time it takes to generate and share RFPs and manage advertising inventory.

Lookie aims to become the operating system for the out-of-home advertising industry, connecting every participant in the ecosystem through one unified platform. We're an early-stage startup building our product from 0 → 1, and we're looking for a backend engineer who enjoys solving real problems and building scalable systems from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy reliable backend application code for the Lookie platform
• Design and develop APIs and services that power core product features
• Collaborate in code reviews with team and help maintain strong engineering standards
• Ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability as the platform grows
• Work closely with product and design teams (in this case will be founders) to deliver features end-to-end
• Continuously improve development processes, tools, and best practices
• Debug production issues and improve system stability
• Support and guide junior engineers as the team expands

Requirements

• 2-3 years of backend software development experience using Python or Node.js
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, backend architecture, and databases (REST or GraphQL) and strong experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar)
• Proven experience working in a fast-paced startup environment and take ownership of problems
• Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience integrating AI tools and building automation or agentic AI workflows

Compensation

$80,000- $120,000

Pay: $85,666.53 - $120,000.00 per year
