Title: PowerShell / DevOps Engineer (Azure, GitHub Actions, ServiceNow)
Type: Full-time
Experience Level: Mid-level to Senior
Start Timing: Immediate

About the Role

We are seeking a PowerShell / DevOps Engineer to support a core product initiative focused on configuration integrity, drift detection, and automated compliance reporting in Azure-managed environments. This role will help extend a platform that evaluates customer environments against a defined test suite and turns those results into customer-facing reporting and dashboards.

This is not a generic scripting role. We are looking for someone who can work across automation, testing, infrastructure validation, and operational delivery. You will help design and implement test-driven workflows that assess managed environments, produce measurable integrity scores, and integrate results into ServiceNow-based reporting.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain PowerShell-based automation for infrastructure validation and drift detection
  • Develop and extend automated test suites used to assess managed Azure environments
  • Implement test-first workflows and contribute to a strong TDD culture
  • Work with GitHub Actions to orchestrate automation, testing, and deployment pipelines
  • Integrate test results and operational data into ServiceNow tables, dashboards, and reporting structures
  • Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to define deliverables and reporting logic
  • Help improve internal engineering workflows around testing, quality, and AI-assisted development
  • Contribute to architecture decisions for scalable, maintainable automation patterns

What We’re Looking For

Candidates should have either relevant industry/domain experience or relevant technical experience.

Option A: Relevant Industry / Domain Experience

Strong experience in one or more of the following:

  • Compliance-focused engineering environments
  • Managed services or MSP/MSSP operations
  • Infrastructure governance or configuration management
  • Security or operational reporting environments
  • Enterprise platform delivery in regulated or highly controlled environments

Option B: Relevant Technical Experience

Strong hands-on experience in one or more of the following:

  • PowerShell development
  • Azure administration or Azure automation
  • GitHub Actions / CI/CD pipeline development
  • Infrastructure testing / validation frameworks
  • ServiceNow integrations or data handling
  • Configuration management and drift detection workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Experience writing production-grade automation or platform code
  • Strong comfort with test-driven development (TDD) and writing tests before or alongside implementation
  • Ability to think beyond code generation and focus on architecture, quality, and operational outcomes
  • Experience working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Strong debugging and systems thinking skills
  • Ability to ramp quickly and contribute within the first two weeks

Strongly Preferred

  • ServiceNow experience
  • Experience with compliance or operational governance workflows
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code alternatives and testing-based infrastructure validation
  • Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar in a disciplined engineering workflow
  • Comfort working in environments where closed-system platform knowledge matters more than generic framework knowledge

Engineering Philosophy

We are specifically looking for engineers who:

  • are comfortable in a tests-first development environment
  • believe developer-owned quality is essential
  • use AI as a force multiplier, not a replacement for judgment
  • can evaluate generated code critically and improve it
  • are open to pushing modern engineering workflows forward, including multi-agent or AI-augmented delivery patterns

Pay: $115,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Dental insurance
  • Flexible schedule
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance

Application Question(s):

  • Please describe your experience with either:

the relevant technology stack for this role, or

the relevant industry/domain.

Include specific tools, platforms, industries, or environments you’ve worked in, and briefly explain how that experience would help you ramp quickly in this position.
