Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)
Role summary
LV8D Solutions seeks an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to manage security throughout the system lifecycle. The role involves defining and integrating security requirements into system acquisitions and development via secure design and configuration. Responsibilities include coordinating with A&A stakeholders, applying software and security engineering methodologies, and utilizing secure coding techniques. The ISSE will configure and support various operating systems and virtualization platforms, and possess expertise in integrating COTS and GOTS products. A strong understanding of network protocols and system components is essential. The position requires a TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
LV8D Solutions is looking for an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) that is responsible for conducting information systems security engineer activities thought the lifecycle. The ISSE is also responsible for capturing and refining information protection requirements to ensure their integration into information systems acquisitions and information system development through purposeful security design or configuration. Personnel shall be knowledgeable of best practices when implementing security controls including software engineering methodologies, security engineering methodologies, security engineering principles, and secure coding techniques and coordinate activities with assessment and authorization (A&A) stakeholders
### Requirements
- Knowledge of and experience with ICD 503 and the Government’s certification and accreditation process
- Proficient with networks, computer components, system protocols, and COTs technology
- Knowledge of system methodologies including: client/server, web hosting, web content servers, policy servers, directory servers, firewalls, WAN, MAN, LAN, switches, and routers
- Expertise in software integration of COTS and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) products
- VMware, Xen, Hyper V and other virtualization platforms
- Education relevant to computer engineering, information security, information management, and/or computer science
- Experience in technical project management
- Technical experience in configuring and supporting, at minimum, Windows, Linux, Unix, Mac OS
- Technical experience in configuring and supporting, at minimum, VMware, Xen, Hyper V
- Technical experience in software engineering, program design and implementation, configuration management, system maintenance, integration testing, and information system engineering
- Responsible for conducting IS security engineering activities throughout the system development/acquisition lifecycles.
- Responsible for capturing and refining information protection requirements to ensure their integration into IS acquisitions and IS development through purposeful security design or configuration.
- Integrates security functional requirements into existing acquisition lifecycle phases, milestones, and deliverables using systems engineering principles and methodologies.
- Coordinate activities with A & A stake-holders and shall be knowledgeable of Analytics/Metrics tools to identify trends and patterns across the Enterprise.
Education / Experience:
- High school’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience,
- Associate’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience,
- Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience
Clearance:
- TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
