Counsel, Litigation & Employment (Labor)
Role summary
Lyft is seeking an attorney with at least 5 years of labor and employment litigation experience to join its Legal Team. This hybrid role requires 3 days a week in their SF or NYC offices. The attorney will manage a wide variety of litigation and pre-litigation matters, including worker classification issues, grievances, unfair labor practices, and agency charges. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal teams and outside counsel on labor strategy, managing outside counsel budgets and case management, and providing cross-functional legal advice to various departments. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, comfortable with ambiguity, and possesses excellent problem-solving and communication skills. A J.D. from a top-tier law school and admission to the California or New York bar are required.

You will assist with a wide variety of labor and employment matters that are core to the company’s business and growth, and you will work extensively across functions to help craft solutions to the novel legal challenges Lyft faces every day. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and comfortable working in an ambiguous, quickly-changing and fast-paced environment. You will report directly to the Senior Director, Litigation & Employment. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in person at a Lyft’s SF or NYC offices.

The expected base pay range for this position in the New York City area is $176,000 - $220,000, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
