Marquis Companies is seeking a passionate and experienced Recreational Activities Consultant to support senior living communities. This corporate role involves providing leadership, coaching, and creative support to Recreation/Life Enrichment teams across post-acute rehab, memory care, and assisted living. The consultant will champion person-centered programming, guide memory care activities, support rehab and assisted living engagement, drive quality and compliance, and build community connections. The ideal candidate has experience in therapeutic recreational activities in senior care and strong knowledge of person-centered programming and resident engagement.

We're looking for a passionate, experienced Recreational Activities Consultant to support our senior living communities across post-acute rehab, memory care, and assisted living. In this corporate role, you'll provide leadership, coaching, and creative support to Recreation/Life Enrichment teams - helping every community deliver an exceptional resident experience.

What You'll Do

  • Lead & support recreation teams — Mentor and coach Recreation/Life Enrichment Directors on program development, documentation, and engagement; share best practices across communities.
  • Elevate the resident experience — Champion person-centered programming that supports residents' physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and creative well-being.
  • Guide memory care programming — Promote dementia-inclusive activities that emphasize abilities, and help staff adapt engagement for varying cognitive and sensory needs.
  • Support post-acute rehab & assisted living — Partner with therapy and clinical teams to keep residents socially engaged through recovery, and help assisted living communities build vibrant, resident-led programming.
  • Drive quality & compliance — Conduct community visits and program reviews, strengthen documentation and regulatory readiness, and build tools that support consistent excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally — Partner with Operations, nursing, therapy, and social services as part of a multi-disciplinary Consultant team.
  • Build community connections — Develop relationships with local organizations, volunteers, and partners to expand and enrich programming.

What We're Looking For

  • Must have experience in therapeutic recreational activities in senior care (post-acute rehab, memory care, assisted living, or skilled nursing/long-term care)
  • Strong knowledge of person-centered programming and resident engagement
  • Ability to work independently and travel between assigned communities

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology, Health Services, or related field 
  • CTRS or relevant activity/recreation certification
  • Experience consulting across multiple senior living communities
  • Experience with dementia programming and/or quality assurance
