Academic Planning and Data Analyst, College of Health Sciences - INTERNAL ONLY
Role summary
The Academic Planning and Data Analyst supports the College of Health Sciences Dean's Office by providing data-informed insights for academic planning, operational coordination, and decision-making. This role analyzes academic data to inform enrollment management, student success, faculty resource planning, and program improvement. Responsibilities include preparing reports, supporting accreditation processes, analyzing enrollment and retention trends, and managing faculty workload data. The analyst will also design and maintain reports and dashboards, respond to ad hoc data requests, and ensure data integrity. This position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a preference for experience in higher education or healthcare environments.
Position Summary
The Academic Planning and Data Analyst serves as a key resource within the Dean’s Office, supporting data-informed planning, operational coordination, and decision-making across the College of Health Sciences. Reporting directly to the Dean, this position integrates academic data analysis with program planning, accreditation support, and administrative operations across a diverse portfolio of accredited, nonaccredited, graduate, undergraduate, and
doctoral-level programs.
The Analyst translates institutional and program-level data into actionable insights that support enrollment management, student success, faculty resource planning, and continuous program improvement. In addition to analytics, the role contributes to the coordination of key academic processes, accreditation activities, and day-to-day operations of the Dean’s Office.
Key Responsibilities
*Academic Planning & Program Support*
- Support academic planning efforts across programs, including course and enrollment planning, program review processes, faculty workload, and long-term program development initiatives
- Prepare summaries, reports, and briefing materials to support decision-making by the Dean and program leadership
- Assist in the coordination and execution of program review cycles and related documentation
- Maintain and organize key program data, records, and planning materials including a repository required for accreditation cycles
*Accreditation & Compliance Support*
- Compile, organize, and present program outcome data for accreditation self-studies, annual reports, and site visits across multiple accrediting bodies
- Assist in coordinating accreditation timelines, documentation, and data requests
- Support site visit preparation, including data validation, materials organization, and logistical coordination
- Maintain records related to accreditation standards, outcomes tracking, and compliance requirements
*Enrollment, Retention & Student Success Analytics*
- Analyze enrollment trends, headcount, credit hour production, and program capacity across both College and University programs in conjunction with IR/Fiscal and other respective constituencies on campus
- Produce reports on retention, progression, time-to-completion, and student outcomes by cohort and demographic group to support and further the College and University’s mission
- Support identification of trends and areas of opportunity related to student success initiatives
- Collaborate with Institutional Research and campus partners to ensure data consistency and accuracy
*Faculty, Operations & Resource Planning*
- Analyze faculty workload data, including course assignments, modality distribution (online, hybrid, in-person), adjunct utilization, and section fill rates to support instructional planning and resource allocation
- Maintain and support processes related to the faculty lifecycle, including tracking and reporting needs
- Develop and maintain adjunct faculty and course staffing records
- Support budget tracking and updates, including preparation of data related to resource allocation and planning
- Maintain equipment replacement and capital planning spreadsheets and related
documentation
*Clinical, External Partnerships & Program Operations*
- Maintain and update records related to clinical sites, field placements, and external agreements in conjunction with clinical coordinators and program and field directors as needed
- Support tracking and coordination of partnership agreements and program requirements
- Assist with operational coordination across programs within the College
*Reporting, Dashboards & Data Management*
- Design, maintain, and update recurring reports and dashboards for the Dean’s Office and program leadership
- Respond to ad hoc data requests in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure data integrity across reports by coordinating with Institutional Research and other data sources
- Develop standardized reporting templates to support consistency across programs
*Dean’s Office Operations & Support*
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Dean’s Office as needed
- Assist with College-level events and initiatives, including orientations, open houses, accreditation visits, donor engagement activities, and special events
- Support coordination of communications, materials, and logistics for College initiatives
- Contribute to a collaborative, service-oriented environment within the College of Health Sciences
Qualifications
*Required*
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, public health, business, social sciences, statistics, or a related field
- Experience in data analysis, reporting, or administrative support, preferably in higher education or healthcare environments
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools; experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms preferred
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate data clearly to non-technical audiences
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

- Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience supporting accreditation processes in higher education
- Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Banner, Colleague)
- Experience with institutional reporting, assessment, or program evaluation
