Role summary
MathWorks is seeking a Secure Enclave Product Owner to lead the strategic direction of their secure data environment. This hybrid role requires a hands-on leader to translate user and business needs into features, ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and operational requirements. The position demands significant experience in controlled computing environments and familiarity with security certifications like NIST 800-171 and CMMC, particularly within the Aerospace/Defense sector. Responsibilities include defining the product roadmap, liaising with stakeholders, gathering customer feedback, ensuring compliance, and driving automation to reduce risk. US Citizenship is required due to customer base.

- Define, maintain, and communicate the product vision and strategic roadmap for MathWorks’ secure data environment
- Act as the primary liaison between the user community, compliance function, and IT service provider
- Engage with internal customers to understand their needs and gather feedback
- Ensure compliance throughout the Secure Enclave ecosystem – processes, training, audit, technical environment, and security
- Drive automation into our processes and technical environment as a means of scaling while increasing quality and reducing risk
- Make decisions about feature priorities based on compliance requirements, business needs, user impact, and technical feasibility
- Significant experience operating in a controlled computing environment as a product owner or similar role
- Significant experience in Aerospace / Defense or adjacent industry
- Thorough understanding of certifications related to controlled data (NIST 800-171, SOC 2, CMMC, ISO 27001, FedRAMP)
Pluses:
- Experience with Azure Government Cloud (US) or other Government Cloud vendors
- Experience with Agile Scrum and associated tools (Jira preferred)
- Familiarity with DevOps and experience in a DevOps culture
- A bachelor's degree and 10 years of professional work experience (or equivalent experience) is required.
