Role summary

MathWorks is seeking a Senior Radar Software Engineer to join their phased array systems team. This role involves leading the design and development of algorithms and tools for modeling and simulating integrated sensing and communications systems, with a focus on 3GPP array configurations and channel modeling for 6G and radar use cases. Responsibilities include participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams, writing well-tested code, and supporting validation and debugging. A Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience or equivalent is required, along with strong MATLAB skills. Experience with phased array/MIMO systems, beamforming, large-scale simulation, and AI/optimization are preferred.

Responsibilities

You’ll participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, collaborating in cross-functional teams to implement and maintain modeling features for 3GPP array configurations and channel modeling in support of 6G and radar use cases.

You'll work with internal stakeholders to address technical needs by delivering accurate, well‑validated modeling solutions.

You'll write well‑tested, well‑documented code; support validation and debugging; and contribute reliably to product releases in a fast‑growing area.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Experience with MATLAB

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with modeling and simulating phased array or MIMO communication systems
  • Understanding of beamforming algorithms
  • Strong software development skills in MATLAB
  • Familiarity with optimization or AI is a plus
  • Familiarity with large scale simulation (GPU and multicore acceleration, etc.) is a plus
